We were called to do this complete garden renovation in Baldock: It was in a bit of a sorry state following some recent building work. The owner had some ideas on what they wanted but we helped take them to the next level. We drew up some plans on how we could create a canvas that could be embellished and enhanced for years to come. The final plan included a large Millboard deck, raised flower beds, steps to the garden and a boardwalk style pathway to the side of the house. For the garden, we laid premium quality turf, leaving a flower border around the edge.
Our customer chose Golden Oak, Millboard Enhanced Grain decking which we installed on top of a tanalised wooden frame. We always construct our frames raised off the ground to avoid them sitting in water and rotting. This significantly increases the life span of the frame and consequently the deck. The Golden Oak has been very popular this year but Millboard have plenty of others to choose from. The raised beds were constructed using timber sleepers, and the steps to the garden and boardwalk style pathway were also constructed using Millboard. The finishing touch was LED lights to add a bit of evening sparkle.
For the garden, after clearing the old turf, removing paving slabs, curbing stones and a tree, we prepared the ground and leveled it with a quality top soil to give an even finish. We laid new turf from a local supplier.
