This was a really interesting project for us as it was a mix of two different types of environment to build in. One was a veranda around a house while the other was across a stream. Both needed different techniques and materials.

While the decking materials were softwood, the frame was tanalised timber to ensure as long a life as possible. When we surveyed the stream area, as expected, the ground was very damp and using any sort of timber posts would have led to a significant reduction in the lifespan of the deck. We therefore recommended using Millboard Plas Pro man made posts due to their rot resistance.
